Armed police have stormed the flat at the centre of a dramatic ‘gun’ stand-off, with two men understood to have been arrested.

The Dean Road stand-off lasted for almost an hour, and was sparked by claims a man inside the property had a gun.

Earlier on, witnesses claimed three teenagers fled the property with the help of police.

One local business owner said the two suspects taken away by police looked “scruffy”.

It’s understood that one of the men currently in custody is a 35-year-old.

Armed police were then spotted emptying the property.

The stand-off has caused major disruption in the area, with roads closed and pedestrians moved away.

Business owners were allowed back into their shops but customers were kept back behind a police cordon.

The police dog section was brought in at the height of the drama.

The police cordon has now been lifted, and the road is understood to have reopened.
