Arrests made after police chase on A64

Two arrests were made on Friday evening after a vehicle failed to stop for officers in Scarborough.

The vehicle made off at speeds well in excess of 100mph and was pursued by police towards Tadcaster.

A stinger was deployed which managed to slow the vehicle down.

Officers were able to use tactical contact to safely bring the vehicle to a stop and the two occupants were arrested for offences including possession of drugs, dangerous driving and taking a vehicle without the owner's consent.
