The body of a 47-year-old local man was found in Harley Street by a member of the public in the early hours of Sunday morning.
North Yorkshire Police were called at around 1.30am after reports of a sudden death.
He was found unconscious in Harley Street, off Scalby Road, by a member of the public who alerted the emergency services.
A police spokesman said: “Despite the efforts of paramedics the man was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at Scarborough Hospital.
“There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the man’s death and a report will be prepared on behalf of the coroner.
“We are not in a position to name the deceased at this time.”
