A MOTORCYCLIST in his 50s had to be taken to hospital for treatment after he was involved in a collision with a car near the A64.
It is understood that he suffered a leg injury and the collision was near to the Shell UK filling station in Spital Road at Staxton.
The alarm was raised at 6.10pm on Thursday and the incident involved a silver Renault Magane.
One lane of traffic was closed but it was reopened by 6.50pm.
A North Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said it did not look like the injury was life threatening.
