Officers from North Yorkshire Police's Roads Policing Group said they had received reports that the vehicle had been involved in "suspicious circumstances".

A Ryedale police officer then spotted it on the A64 in Malton and the vehicle was stopped.

The car was seized after the driver admitted being behind the wheel without insurance or a driving licence.
