Cars stolen in garage raid

Police are appealing for information following an “audacious” break-in at a Scarborough garage - the second such incident to hit the business within a week.

Two cars were stolen from T&S Motors, Back Albion Road, on Monday at around 2am.

A burgundy Volvo V40 and a silver Land Rover Freelander were taken from T&S Motors on Back Albion Road.

Despite an immediate police search of the area, neither vehicle was found.

Two other cars were damaged during the break-in as the thieves manoeuvred the vehicles out of the garage.

Detective Constable Stephen Johnson, of Scarborough CID, said: “This was a audacious crime carried out a week to the day after the first break-in and took place in a populated residential area. I am appealing to anyone who can assist with our investigation to get in touch.”

Anyone with information is asked to call North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option 2 and ask for Scarborough CID.
