Police are appealing for witnesses after an assault on a train to Scarborough.
British Transport Police hope those who reported the attack to the guard will come forward, after a suspect was arrested.
The 40-year-old man has been bailed by police until Wednesday 5 November.
But officers want any passengers travelling on the 8.35pm York to Scarborough service on Thursday 16 October to come forward and report anything they witnessed
PC Ian Hancox the investigating officer, said: “Passengers on board the service alerted the train guard after they witnessed a man being verbally abusive to a female he was travelling with. He then physically assaulted her.
“Unfortunately the passengers who alerted the guard left the train before providing their details to officers.
“We would really like to trace them as they have important information which will assist this investigation
“If that was you, please contact us. We would also like to hear from anyone else who may have been travelling on the service and witnessed what took place.”
If you can assist the investigation please call British Transport Police on 0800 40 50 40 or text 61016, or call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
