Driver arrested in Scarborough for testing positive for cannabis

A driver was arrested after testing positive for cannabis in Scarborough.

Police stopped a black Ford on Valley Road yesterday at 2pm after the driver wheelspun the car at speed - right past officers - from where it had been parked on a pavement.

The driver was asked to take a drugs test and was found to have taken cannabis.

North Yorkshire Police's Roads Policing Group also stopped the driver of a black Renault on Filey Road in Scarborough at 12.51pm yesterday.

The driver was reported for driving without insurance.
