Drug-dealing footballer sent to prison

A FORMER Scarborough Athletic footballer has been jailed for four years after being caught dealing heroin and crack cocaine.

Wesley Owusu, 21, was jailed at Hull Crown Court after being caught with class A drugs for a second time.

Owusu, who was never selected for the Scarborough Athletic first team but recently made appearances for the club’s reserve side, was arrested after police raided a flat in Hull in September last year.

His then girlfriend, Samantha Hunter, pointed officers in the direction of a shoe box, stashed in a wardrobe, stuffed with 24 bags of heroin, valued at more than £160, and eight wraps of crack cocaine worth more than £180.

Owusu was picked-up nearby minutes later on a bicycle with the scales and £40 worth of cannabis.

Hunter, also 21, was jailed for 18 months for her involvement in the drug dealing.
