Nick Groom, 28, of Flamborough Road, was issued with a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) when he appeared at Hull Crown Court on Friday February 14.

Groom has been found to be going door-to-door in Bridlington offering to sell residents fish. He took money from the people he visited but failed to deliver the fish ordered. This was considered to be fraud by false representation and he was found in breach of a suspended sentence order too.

Nick Groom.

- Call at any residential premises, whether by doorbell, knocking or other means, for the purposes of offering items for sale without the prior permission of the occupier.

- Offer any item for sale which is not in his physical possession at the time of the offer.

This order applies throughout the East Riding of Yorkshire.

Local community Beat Manager PC Kevin Jones said: “Nick Groom has been found to be causing some real problems to the residents of Bridlington and I am pleased to see the Court deal with him in this way.

“If Nick Groom does go to anyone else’s door and tried to sell fish he doesn’t have then he will be in breach of his CBO.

“If any resident does have him call on them, they should call us on 101 so we can take the details of the incident.”
