Man arrested after police find suspected weapons and drugs in Bridlington

Police found drugs and weapons when they stopped a man in Bridlington yesterday.

Officers were on their way to a partner agency meeting when they recognised the man as someone they wanted to speak to about a burglary.

They stopped him in the town centre, arrested him on suspicion of burglary, searched him and found a number of suspected weapons including a knife and what is believed to be cannabis.

He was then further arrested on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon and drugs.

A spokesperson for Humberside Police said: "There is no place for any type of bladed article or article adapted to cause harm to be carried on the streets around Bridlington.

"Zero tolerance and positive action will be taken on any individual found in possession of such an item in a public place."
