Man arrested in connection with assault at Sanctuary Bar, Scarborough

A man in his 30s has been arrested in connection with an assault at a bar in Scarborough.

Scarborough police are appealing for witnesses including a group of women to come forward following the incident at Sanctuary Bar on St Nicholas Street.

It happened between 3.10am and 3.15am in the early hours of Saturday December 21 at a table near the front of the premises - which were previously known as the Blue Lounge.

A 19-year-old man was assaulted by another man and sustained a cut to his face. A man in his 30s has been arrested in connection with the investigation and release on bail while the investigation continues.

There were a number of women sat around the table where the assault happened and officers are appealing to them to come forward along with anyone else who witnessed the incident.
