A MAN has appeared at Scarborough Magistrates’ Court facing drugs charges.
Daniel Michael Hallas, 26, of Market Court, Pickering, admitted possessing a quantity of cannabis and diazepam at his home address on June 17.
Catherine Turnbull, prosecuting, said that a warrant was executed and police officers found 9.31 grams of cannabis in the form of skunk and 25 and a half tablets of diazepam.
The diazepam was estimated to have a street value of between £12.75 and £38.25 and the cannabis £54.97 and £68.71.
Robert Vining, mitigating, said the drugs were for his clients own personal use as he suffered with a painful back problem.
He also disputed the street values placed upon the drugs, arguing they were worth a lot less.
Hallas was fined £50 for possession of diazepam, £65 for the cannabis, plus £85 court costs.
