Officers from the town's Neighbourhood Policing Team were patrolling the North side of Scarborough last night when they saw a quad bike being driven by a man suspected to be disqualified from driving.
Blue lights and sirens were activated and they asked the driver to stop but he drove off.
When police checked the vehicle's registration, they found it had no insurance.
The same officers were trying to find the quad bike and its driver when they spotted him walking down the street.
Following a short foot chase, they found him hiding in a garden nearby.
He was arrested and charged with suspicion of disqualified driving, failing to stop for police and driving with no insurance.
