Missing woman, 48, may be in Scarborough

POLICE in Scarborough are appealing for the public’s help locate a missing woman.

Sally Furness, 48, of South Yorkshire was reported missing at just after 10pm on Wednesday by a family member who believed that she was in Scarborough.

Due to the nature of the information given and concerns for her safety as a result of health issues, an RAF Search and Rescue helicopter and both RNLI lifeboats assisted officers from North Yorkshire Police in the initial search. It is not believed that Sally is in immediate danger. However, officers are still trying to locate her to confirm that she is safe and well.

Sally is of average build and has shoulder length straight brown hair. On her left forearm she has a tattoo which reads “Washys Titch Forever”.

Inspector Shaun Sutcliffe, said: “It is possible that Sally may have stayed in a bed and breakfast hotel with her partner overnight between Thursday and Friday, although this has not been confirmed.

“I need to speak with anyone who can help locate Sally as a matter of urgency as I need to ensure that she is safe. If you have any information please contact me as soon as possible.”
