PICTURE: Police stop Kia car in Scarborough due to 'poor driving' ... worse was to come

Police found a motorist had no insurance after stopping them for "poor driving" in the North Bay area of Scarborough.

Police patrolling the area yesterday afternoon stopped the white Kia as the driver "was displaying a poor driving standard".

Subsequent checks revealed that there was no insurance on the car.

Police say the car is awaiting collection to the impound yard until the owner arranges their legal documents to be on the road.

The driver has also been reported for driving with no insurance.

The police add: "At this time of year, drivers are reminded to ensure their cars are road legal, whether this is documents or a safety service, these checks need to be done.

"Prevention is always better that a prosecution, or worse."
