North Yorkshire Police is appealing for witnesses and information about the incident that occurred on Saturday January 4.

A spokesman for the force said: "It is believed that thieves broke into the premises on Queen Street at approximately 1.30am on Saturday January 4 2020.

"On gaining entry to the property by kicking in the front door, an untidy search was made and the till was stolen.

"We are requesting the public’s assistance to help establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

"In particular, we are appealing for information from anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area, around the time of the burglary."
