Police ask for help on attack case

POLICE have made a fresh appeal for information after a boy was assaulted in Scarborough town centre.

The incident occurred after a man bumped into two boys before grabbing one of them and pushing him against a wall in the Westwood area of the town

The assault took place at around 6.30pm on Saturday November 13.

The perpetrator is described as being white, around 6ft tall and having a heavy build. At the time of the assault he was wearing glasses and a beige jacket and was carrying a Tesco carrier bag.

Police Constable Catherine Peet, of Scarborough Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “This was an unprovoked assault which left both boys shaken.

“Although we have made a number of inquiries following the assault we have been unable to establish the man’s identity.

“I am now appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident or can help identify the man to come forward as I need to speak to them.”
