Officers from North Yorkshrie Police’s Roads Policing Team were responding to reports of yob behaviour when they came across a broken-down car abandoned in Pickering on Friday.

The driver of the blue Renault was tracked down and arrested after failing a roadside drugs test, which came up positive for cannabis.

Another driver was arrested on suspicion of drug driving on the same day after police stopped a blue Renault in Scarborough to check the driver was insured.

The driver’s insurance was in place but a roadside drugs test was positive for cannabis.

A third driver was arrested in West Knapton after being stopped on the A64 in a silver Land Rover Freelander because the car had two back lights out.

A roadside drugs test came up positive for cannabis.
