Police have revealed details of the men arrested following the Dean Road stand-off.
Witnesses watched as two men were hauled from a flat before armed police stormed the property, which is just yards from the West Riding pub.
Now the force say two men, aged 35 and 32, have been arrested in connection with the incident.
One witness who watched the arrest said they looked “scruffy”, adding that the property is regularly visited by police.
They remain in police custody for questioning, while the force say all cordons have now been lifted and Dean Road has reopened to the public.
Business owners were allowed into the street during the stand-off, but pedestrians were kept back.
The police dog section was brought in, while armed officers were called into action.
“The armed police were standing next to the car boot of their BMW just sorting their weapons out at the petrol station in Seamer Road,” said one eye-witness.
“They then just hit the sirens and flew into town.”
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “Officers would like to thank the public for their patience during this incident.”
