An arrest has been made after a middle-aged man was stabbed in a knife attack at a Scarborough home.
The 54-year-old victim was rushed to hospital following the violent attack in Fieldside at around 11.25am this morning, Thursday January 8..
Neighbours have talked off their “shock” at learning about the attack.
“I was walking along the road, and I spotted two men near the property,” said a Fieldside resident.
“A few minutes later I came back, and there were about four police cars and an ambulance - I couldn’t believe it.
He added: “It was really suprising, and seemed to just come out of nowhere.”
And an elderly female resident added that she was “stunned” by the incident, adding: “It’s usually really nice around here, but it has got worse over the years.”
Detectives are now investigating the attack, and are currently quizzing a 33-year-old male suspect in custody.
The victim is currently being treated at Scarborough Hospital for puncture wounds, after he was stabbed in the leg.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “The victim has been taken to Scarborough Hospital for treatment, however his injuries are not life-threatening.
“Officers were in the area and quickly arrested a 33-year-old man in connection with the incident and recovered a knife. He remains in police custody for questioning.”
