A MAN has appeared in court charged with indecently assaulting three boys under the age of 14 more than 40 years ago.

David Stingemore, 56, formerly of Scarborough, appeared before Scarborough magistrates facing 10 charges in total.

Five charges of indecent assault and one of gross indecency relate to one boy, while another two boys are each said to be the victim of one charge of indecent assault and one of gross indecency.

The court heard the alleged incidents took place in Scarborough between 1968 and 1970.

Stingemore, now living in Brighton, did not enter pleas.

His case was committed to Crown Court, but he will next appear at magistrates on December 19 for committal proceedings. He was granted unconditional bail.
