A teenager charged with murdering 19-year-old Michael Graham has today denied the allegations against him.
The 17-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, this afternoon entered not guilty pleas at Leeds Crown Court to charges of murder and wounding with intent.
The charges are in relation to an incident in Foreshore Road on April 13 this year, in which Michael Graham, pictured, who was known among friends as Angel, was fatally stabbed.
Following police investigations a further seven people have now been charged in relation to the incident.
Six males, aged 18, 17, 16, 15, and two aged 14 have been charged with violent disorder, while a 23-year-old woman has been charged with assisting an offender.
All seven are due to appear at Scarborough Magistrates’ Court on June 28.
Meanwhile an 18-year-old male has been rebailed pending further enquiries, while four other people arrested in connection with the investigation, two 16-year-old girls and 14-year-old girl and a 19-year-old man, have all been released without further action.
A provisional trail date for the teenager accused of murder was fixed for August 27 at Teeside Crown Court, with an estimate of 10 days.
Judge Geoffrey Marson QC further remanded the teenager into youth detention accommodation.
Following Michael’s death many floral tributes, messages of sympathy and soft toys have been left at the scene near Olympia Leisure.
