Thieves steal laptop

SCARBOROUGH Police are hunting thieves who stole a laptop computer from the back pocket of a mobilty scooter.

It was owned by a 32-year-old disabled woman who had travelled from Westborough down to the foreshore and back between 2pm and 4pm on Monday.

She was on a red scooter and the stolen item was a black Acer Gold 6 laptop – model number MP15ACE6 – was taken at some point in the journey.

Officers are today appealing for anyone who witnessed the theft to contact them with information.

PC Adrian Sartain, of Scarborough police, added: “This heartless theft happened in broad daylight, when I’m sure there will have been plenty of potential witnesses around.

“I am appealing to anyone who saw the theft take place or has any other information that can help us identify the offender, to come forward.

“I would also like to hear from anyone who may have been offered a laptop for sale recently.”
