Three arrested in Ryedale police operation

A police operation in Norton yesterday evening has resulted in the arrest of three men. (Wednesday, October 23)

The men, aged 28, 41 and 43, were arrested on suspicion of burglary.

The 28-year-old, who is of no fixed address, was arrested at 6.30pm.

The other two men, both from the Barnsley area of West Yorkshire, were arrested shortly after 8pm, following a search of the area, assisted by a dog unit and police helicopter.

The arrests follow the report of a Ford Mondeo seen acting in a suspicious manner in the Norton area yesterday at 6pm

All three are currently in police custody.

It is the latest success for Operation Hawk, North Yorkshire Police’s ongoing crackdown on criminals who travel from outside the area to commit crimes.
