Trouble-free start to 2012

POLICE have stated that revellers enjoyed a trouble free New Year, with festivities in the town passing off without any major incidents.

North Yorkshire Police Force issued a statement quashing reports that the evening had been one of the busiest in the forces history.

In the statement, a police spokesperson said that while New Year’s Eve wasn’t incident free, the evening was no busier than any other New Year.

They also stated that there was no major incidents to report, despite revellers partying until the early hours with pubs and clubs enjoying extended opening hours.
