Two cars stolen in ‘two in one’ burglary

DETECTIVES in Scarborough are appealing for information following a “two in one” burglary in the town.

A two in one burglary is when thieves enter a property to steal car keys before stealing the vehicle.

Between 10.30pm on Monday and 6.30am on Tuesday, burglars entered an address in Garfield Road and stole two sets of car keys. They then stole a red Peugeot 207 and a grey Peugeot 307 parked at the address.

The thieves also took a crocodile skin effect purse, containing bank cards and a small quantity of money.

The Peugeot 207 was found abandoned at 10.20am on Ash Grove in the Barrowcliff area of the town. The Peugeot 307 (registration number F57 KYY) has not yet been located.
