Unknown persons trying front door handles to Bridlington properties

Over the weekend, Humberside Police have received reports of unknown persons trying the front door handles to properties in Bridlington.

The force says that the incidents on Kirkgate and Sewerby Road happened during the early hours and thankfully no entry has been gained.

There has also been a couple of shed burglaries reported on Cleeton Way and allotments around Bridlington. It involved sheds being forced open and items stolen inside.

Humberside Police are now warning residents to ensure their properties are fully secure before they go to bed or leave their address.

PC Kevin Jones said: "A check to ensure all doors and windows are locked and any alarms activated will help prevent any opportunist crimes being committed.

"Please consider security lighting, CCTV and high security locks to deter criminal activity and look towards registering any high value items with immobile.com.

"Should you witness any suspicious activity that you suspect is a crime in action please call 999 or for non-emergency reports please contact 101."
