Wanted man arrested by police after search

A SCARBOROUGH man being hunted by police officers has been captured.

Simon Wilson, 27, of Alga Terrace, was yesterday arrested in Hull after breaching the terms of his release following a 13-year sentence for theft.

He is currently being held in custody.

Chief Inspector Dave Foster, Scarborough Safer Neighbourhood Commander, said: “This is an excellent result.

“It sends a clear message that we will never stop searching for those people who believe they can evade justice.

“He will now have to face up to the consequences of his illegal activity.”

Police believed Wilson had been operating across the country to avoid detection, using various identities including Ian Docherty, A McDonald, Stephen Petit and Mike Sheldon.
