Deadline looms for entries to regional In Bloom contest

Communities across the region wishing to take part in the 2013 Yorkshire in Bloom campaign are being reminded to submit their entry forms by the deadline of January 31.

The end of January deadline is for communities wishing to take part in categories 1-5 of this horticultural, environmental and community campaign ie villages, towns, cities and coastal resorts.

Entries into categories 6 – 12 of the campaign, including hotels, caravan parks, visitor attractions, neighbourhoods, universities and also the Young People’s Award which is sponsored by the North of England Horticultural Society can be made online via the Yorkshire in Bloom website until February 12.

Many entry forms have already been received, both by post and online at With almost 100 entries expected to take part, which is the biggest number of entries in any region in Britain, organisers say 2013 is set to be another bloomin’ good year for Yorkshire.
