Drivers are reminded of a full road closure at Sandside in Scarborough due to roadworks this week.
Work will be carried out between 7am and 6am and a diversion route will be in place for drivers.
North Yorkshire County Council secured funding from the Government’s National Productivity Investment Fund for the carriageway work, which is expected to last one week.
Councillor Janet Jefferson, who represents the Castle ward, said: “I am pleased this funding is being used to improve such an important thoroughfare and this will benefit the whole area. I would also like to thank in advance the businesses in the area for their co-operation while this work is carried out.’’
The Sandside roadworks come following the conclusion of the Royal Albert Drive roadworks.
Councillor Don Mackenzie, said: “This work has been programmed carefully to ensure the resurfacing work in Royal Albert Drive is completed and that these works are finished before the annual McCain 10k run and the school half-term holidays.
“We have scheduled the work for the evening to cause as little disruption as possible and would like to thank residents and motorists in advance for their patience and co-operation.’’
