YOUNGSTERS at a Scarborough nursery had a cracking Easter after holding a bonnet competition.

The tots at Happy Jays in Hopper Hill Road, Eastfield, showed off the colourful creations they had made at home.

The overall winner was Hannah Hughes and organisers said all entries were excellent.

Danielle Speight, deputy manager, said: “They loved it. The children are always very proud when they bring in things they’ve made at home.

“We could tell Hannah had made hers by herself and it was great.

“One of the children also made an egg which looked like Sonic the Hedgehog!”.

Danielle added: “We normally do something like this at Easter - the children love it.”

The children, aged two to four, are pictured with their Easter creations.
