STUDENTS from a Scarborough school are gearing up for an action packed summer after embarking on an activity scheme.
The five Year 11 pupils from Scalby School have signed up for the National Citizen Service from the Prince’s Trust.
The scheme allows students to take part in various activities on a five-day residential trip or work in a group on a project to help the community.
Becky Seddon, Programme Coordinator for the Prince’s Trust, gave a presentation to the students, who are now raring to go.
Student Andrew Howson said: “It will be a valuable experience and give people a chance to build up their team work and life skills.”
Devon Page, who is also a member of the Scarborough Youth Council, added: “We believe this will be a flagship project that will allow young people to have a positive effect in their community.”
