A NEW wave of child actors and directors in the making could be making the cut at a Scarborough primary school.
A cast of Year 5 pupils at Barrowcliff School depicted Cinderella on her quest to find prince charming in a production of Fiends Reunited.
Children took roles of various fairytale characters, and class teachers Miss Morris and Mrs Wright praised the children’s efforts.
Mrs Wright said: “We’ve very proud of the children they were absolutely fantastic. They got a lot out of it - theatre skills, teamwork, music, directing and making props – as it encompassed a wide spread of skills covering the National Curriculum.
“They all worked very hard and seemed to really embrace it.
“We had a huge turn-out, especially on the evening performance. It consisted of parents, governors, past teachers and headteachers who came and we just want to say thank you for their support.”
It was a happy ending for all, the production raised £89.35 for RNLI, the school’s charity of the year, and Cinderella found her own Romeo - complete with leather jacket and sunglasses.
