EASTER eggcitement was in the air at a Scarborough school as youngsters designed and paraded their own head wear.
The Easter Bonnet parade at Friarage School saw children show off a colourful array of home made hats.
Pupils made their bonnets at home before putting on parade in front of parents and teachers at the school before breaking up for the Easter holiday.
The parade was judged by a school governor and site manager, who awarded two prizes to each class, one of family effort and one for a child’s individual effort.
Every pupil who take part was also given an Easter Egg to take home.
Assistant headteacher Cheryl Cappleman said: “Everyone had a great time during the parade.
“The hats were absolutely amazing. We have some really creative children and parents. They were fabulous, and each one individual. We even had some which had a Royal Wedding theme which was nice.”
