Jordan and Jamie in tune for awards

YOU rock – that’s the verdict on students Jamie Barratt-Gibson and Jordan Lapping.

The Yorkshire Coast College duo, based at the Underground Music department at Westwood campus, have been presented with UK Music Student Awards.

Twenty-year-old Jordan from Bridlington won best overall student and Jamie, 22, of Malton, took the best producer prize.

“It was an honour and a privilege to receive this award,” said Jordan now in his final year at Westwood.

He is part of two acoustic duos and wants to continue gigging and get what he called a proper full-time job. Jordan, also in his final year at Westwood, plans to study at Leeds University and then set up his own record company and studio.

Tutors Carl Sellars and John Pattison nominated their students for the awards.
