SCHOOLCHILDREN showed true sportsmanship in a day of competitions and races.
As well as athletic events, Key Stage 2 pupils at Hinderwell School also joined in the usual sack race and egg and spoon races in the annual school sports day.
PE co-ordinator Paul Johnson said: “As usual it was a super day, especially with the weather which was an added bonus.
“Children took part in javelin, shot put, discus, hurdles, standing jump and high jump.
“It was a full day of events; they competed for medals in the morning and in the afternoon they did the sack race, relay, sprint and other races.” Pupil Cameron McDonald won the high jump jump-off, clearing a winning height of 1.07metres.
Mr Johnson added: “We had a really good turn out of parents who came to support their children. The children thoroughly enjoyed it as always, they were true sportsmen and women.”
