Students have celebrated getting their A-Level results at Scarborough Sixth Form College.
Many of the teenagers will be heading off to university and were hugging and crying as they get ready to move onto the next stage of their lives.
In results just released, the pass rate at A level was more than 98% with 52% of entries achieving one of the top grades A*, A or B.
The pass rate for BTEC was more than 98%.
Principal Marcus Towse said:
“These superb results are a great credit to the talent and hard work of our students, and show they have made great progress over their time at College. For many subjects, this was the first time students have taken new reformed A level courses and exams, so frankly we are all delighted that achievement rates have held up well, with many strong performances. Alongside the A levels, the College BTEC results continue to be outstanding against national comparisons. Overall, whether A level or BTEC, the high proportion of top grades means students are not only passing, but doing very well at the College, and so will now be able to progress on to their first choice destinations, whether it be a good university, a high level apprenticeship or the desired job.
Recognition is due to staff at the College for the quality of teaching and the huge amount of support given; and thanks also for the support of parents, and to our partner schools who provide the grounding on which the College builds. But in the end, each student has to work hard at mastering their subjects, putting in time and effort to prepare for exams, and they should be deservedly proud of their achievements."
