SPRING came early for toddlers at a local nursery, as they were paid a visit from a travelling farm.
Excited youngsters at Happy Jays Nursery in Eastfield were given the chance to pet, feed and play with a range of cute creatures, including a lamb, rabbits and a baby chick.
The visit, which was courtesy of the Purple Pig Company of Pocklington, allowed the youngsters to not only interact with the animals, but to also learn a little bit about them.
Louise Goodger, who is the nursery manager, said: “The children thought that the animals were fantastic, especially the little lamb. They couldn’t get enough of them and were really comfortable around them.
“The children also learned a little bit about each animal, and as the whole event had a spring theme, they also learned about things such as life cycles, which they all found really interesting.”
The Purple Pig Company operates a mobile farm for youngsters to enjoy, as well as giving out talks and educating youngsters about animals.
