SCARBOROUGH’S university campus will not move into a prominent town school, it has been confirmed.
The University of Hull, Scarborough campus, in Filey Road, had been rumoured to be interested in purchasing Bramcote School.
The move was said to be in response to the school’s merger with Scarborough College, which was announced last month.
However, a spokeswoman said: “The university can confirm this is purely a rumour and has no basis in fact.
“We are not at present investigating the purchase of any property in Scarborough.”
The merger was heralded as a huge move for pupils in Scarborough, with both schools continuing to offer day and boarding education.
