A FREE one-off careers evening takes place in the town tonight.
The event is part of Scarborough Engineering Week and takes place at the Spa Complex between 4pm and 7pm.
It makes up part of the three-day engineering showcase, which runs until Wednesday and technology such as robots and Formula One cars.
It will also feature an 82-year-old Leyland Tiger bus, which has been restored by a team of apprentices at Scarborough company Bluebird.
Peter Wilkinson, chairman of the Scarborough Ambassadors Forum, said: “It’s a great showcase, anybody who has an interest in technology should come down and take a look for themselves.”
Mr Wilkinson believes that the event could inspire youngsters to become the next Steve Jobs, the Apple innovator who died last week.
Mr Wilkinson met him at an industry event in America.
He said: “He was such an incredible innovator, it’s a massive loss for the world.”
Eamonn Byrne, Senior Consultant from Castle Employment Agency, added: “It will be an exciting evening for students and adults alike.”
