Light rain, cloud and sunny spells are forecast for Friday June 19 and Saturday June 20 with temperatures rising to 190C.

Rainfall looks heavy for Sunday June 21 although temperatures will remain at 190c.

The mist which has beset Scarborough since the start of week is locally known as a sea fret and can linger on the coast even though inland is sunny.

It is caused by air which sits just above the sea's surface cools the warm air above it until it can no longer hold its moisture.

This forces it to condense into tiny particles of water which form the fog that we see.
