Scarborough’s youth and community off-road motorcycle club is holding an open afternoon in a bid to recruit new members and supporters.
Mud In Your Blood is hosting the babrbecue event, which will include include taster sessions for new and inexperienced riders, from noon on Sunday.
A number of club bikes and training and safety equipment will be available on the day.
Peter Goodworth ,the club’s chairman, said: “The event is part of the club’s drive to recruit new members and supporters to get involved with the project and take part in making the club one of most exciting activities in Scarborough. The club is totally dependant on the commitment and good will of volunteers who help run our events, raise funds for the club and ensure that it runs to the highest safety standard. The event will enable us to meet potential new members and showcase what the club has to offer.”
Mud in You Blood is a non-profit, charity-driven and family friendly group, set up in 2010 to tackle the nuisance and dangers associated with illegal off-road riding in the town and to offer safe and affordable access to the sport for Scarborough communities. The club has over 60 active members and is currently operating from a donated temporary site next to Dean’s Garden Centre in Seamer Road, where the event will be held.
The club’s management group is scrambling towards realising plans to develop a fully-fledged off-road practice track and training school to ensure that anyone can take part in the sport at an affordable price.
