Scarborough RUFC’s Kiwi battering ram Isaac Faamau is relishing the prospect of tackling derby rivals Bridlington this Saturday.
The Silver Royd side head to Dukes Park full of confidence after beating York 20-17 on Saturday, and Faamau is anticipating a tough, physical contest against their East Coast rivals.
Faamau said: “I’m looking forward to it, althought it’s going to be a hard battle.
“The team has prepared well for the game though, so I know we will be ready for it.”
Faamau admits he prefers a fixture with a bit of added spice and this Saturday no doubt falls into that category.
“I love it when you play a derby game, they’re tough and more aggressive,” added the number-eight.
“For me, the more aggression in a game the better, but it’s also important we stay focused on the task ahead.”
The tough tackling Kiwi is also keen to see the team starting to build some momentum going forward.
He added: “We need to carry on from last week’s win and continue our form to build up some momentum.”
