FAMILIES with babies and toddlers are invited to Scalby Library tomorrow to join in with one of North Yorkshire County Council’s popular Baby Days.
The Baby Day is supported by a variety of organisations including Briercliffe Children’s Centre which will provide a range of fun activities such as music sessions for babies and toddlers.
Parents and carers will have access to stands with information and expert advice on matters including fire safety, car seat safety, real nappies, health, wellbeing and recreation. Baby signing taster sessions will be offered by Heather Othick from Tiny Talk and music and movement will be offered by Katie Rawnsley from Jumping Jacks.
County Councillor Chris Metcalfe, North Yorkshire’s Executive Members for Library Services said: “Our libraries provide a wonderful resource for families with a wealth of information and expert advice on hand. In addition our libraries are best placed at the heart of their communities to introduce babies and toddlers to books and reading and language activities from the earliest age, providing them with the best start in life on their learning journey.”
There will also be a chance for parents to have a coffee and join the library if they are not already members so they can start to borrow books immediately. Babies and toddlers can also join our free Bookstart reading club.
Entry to the Baby Day is free and will take place between 10am and 2pm tomorrow.
