FAMILY fun was the order of the day at this year’s Ayton Gala.

The popular annual event took place at the playing fields and village hall off Wilson’s Lane in East Ayton.

It featured many stalls, hot food, cream teas, competitions, a bouncy castle and children’s roundabout ride.

Clr David Jeffels, who is on the village hall committee, says he believes it was the best gala to date.

He said: “It was a great success and attracted a large number of people.

“It also benefited a considerable number of organisations, which all had their own stalls.

“The weather was favourable and there was some great entertainment from the Hatton dancers and a Zumba session.

“Everybody enjoyed it.”
