A NEW way to worship is being introduced at a Scarborough church.
The fun, family-friendly ‘messy church’ sessions, to run at Wreyfield Drive Methodist Church from the beginning of next month, will see games, crafts, stories and food on offer in the church’s hall.
The Rev Clare Stainsby said: “Messy church is not at all like regular Sunday church - there’s no sitting in rows and listening.
“Each session will centre around a story or some words from the Bible - a message that has something to say to us today as people living in 21st century Scarborough.”
The first session will take place on Saturday October 1, between 11am and 12:30pm.
Free doughnuts and drinks will be served at the beginning of the session while burgers will be served at the end.
People of all ages are welcome to attend although children must be accompanied by an adult.
The messy church will then run on the first Saturday of every month.
