Fifty years since Stones rolled into town

This week marks 50 years since the Rolling Stones played Scarborough’s Futurist Theatre.

The band played two shows at the venue on March 8 1965 as part of a short UK tour.

For Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Brian Jones, Bill Wyman and Charlie Watts it was their first British tour, with the band playing just 10 songs as part of their set.

Performances from dates on the tour, though sadly not Scarborough, were used to form the live EP Got Live If You Want It!
