Filming underway for period drama Victoria at Yorkshire stately home

An historic house in North Yorkshire welcomed the cast of ITV period drama Victoria for filming today.

Duncombe Park near Helmsley is being used to shoot scenes for the drama, which stars Doctor Who actress Jenna Coleman as a young Queen Victoria.

The estate's attraction, the National Bird of Prey Centre, is open as normal during filming.

The house, which is not open to the public, is the historic seat of the Barons Feversham and their families. It has 300 acres of parkland and was built in 1713 before being rebuilt in 1895 following a fire.

In 2012 it was used for the filming of another period drama, Parade's End, starring Benedict Cumberbatch.
