A LEARNERS event was held in Scarborough to offer information about apprenticeships to people of all ages.
The event in the Spa Complex Promenade Lounge yesterday was part of a successful programme to create 100 apprenticeships in 100 days.
The Evening News, the National Apprenticeship Service and Scarborough Council joined forces to get as many businesses as possible involved in the North Yorkshire Coast Apprenticeship Challenge.
They have just heard that the target has been met with 101 apprenticeships pledged - even though the campaign was due to run until the end of June.
Yorkshire Regional Newspapers classified manager Sharon Baxter, who was at the event, said: “We were thrilled when we heard the news the target had been met.
“Today is about the learners coming along to find out more about the apprenticeships and training on offer.
“We’ve had lots of people though the doors and it’s been very busy.”
